Choosing a solar thermal kit without a hot water storage tank is a convenient solution for retrofit systems in particular. The kit contains the main components of a solar thermal system allowing it to be connected to an existing hot water storage tank, buffer cylinder or other tank in the building (subject to technical requirements – minimum capacity, heat transfer surface, controller capability). The KOMFORT type set is characterised by high functionality on the installation and operation side. The MiniSOL controller requires minimal time from the user and the contractor thanks to its ‘Plug&Play’ technology. The operation is done exclusively via a mobile app.
Harnessing energy from the sun with trace energy consumption makes the solar thermal kit unrivalled in terms of energy efficiency. To generate 100 W of heat, only about 1 W of electricity is needed to power a small circulating pump. The optimally sized kit simultaneously ensures high operating efficiency and reduces the possibility of overheating on the sunniest days of the year.
The MiniSOL controller included in the scope of delivery of the KOMFORT solar thermal kit is a new generation ‘Plug&Play’ controller. A priority in its design was to make installation, commissioning and operation as convenient as possible. The controller has a built-in WiFi module and is operated exclusively via a functional mobile app (Android or iOS). The advanced control algorithm of the solar circuit pump allows intelligent setting of the operating parameters for any size of system. The circulating pump rotational speed is controlled in a stepless way by the PWM2 or iPWM2 signal.
The KOMFORT solar thermal kit consists of solar collectors from the KS2100 or KS2600 series. The scope of supply also includes the ALEX HX10 pump station, the MiniSOL controller and a complete expansion vessel for the glycol circuit. To connect the solar collectors to the battery, there is a ZPKS connection kit with a 3/4″ screw. It also comes with 20 or 30 litres of propylene glycol. Other components of the solar thermal system need to be ordered separately, as they are dependent on the installation conditions of the system. This is the mounting system for the solar collectors and the solar circuit pipe.
A small solar installation directly reduces atmospheric emissions. Every amount of fuel saved at home, means less strain on the environment and cleaner air in the area. Even the smallest solar thermal kit of 2 flat-plate solar collectors can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 800 kg per year. This is roughly equivalent to the ‘work’ of 120 mature trees.
