What are the application options for PCOP MONO heat pumps?

PCOP MONO heat pumps (industrial heat pumps) can be used as stand-alone units or in conjunction with conventional heat sources. Due to their higher heating outputs and flow temperatures of up to 60°C, they are designed for use in larger facilities, whether industrial, commercial, office, tourist or multi-family housing, etc. In heating mode, the PCOP MONO heat pumps can operate down to an outside temperature of -30°C. In addition, it is possible to use them for active building cooling in summer.

Wide range of work and applications

The evaporator, with its large heat surface, allows efficient heat extraction even at low outside temperatures (operation down to -30°C). The maximum flow temperature is 60°C (up to an external temperature of -15°C) and 45°C (down to -30°C). In the case of the PCOP MONO HX25 EVI, this range is even wider: 60°C (at -20°C outside) and 50°C (at -30°C), respectively. In large facilities, PCOP MONO heat pumps are often combined in a cascade system to cover high heating and cooling needs.

Compressors with EVI technology – higher efficiency and productivity

The rotary compressor with EVI (Enhanced Vapour Injection) technology is an additional (optimised) refrigerant vapour injection, which, by increasing the mass flow of refrigerant entering the compressor, translates into an increase in COP efficiency of approximately 10% and thermal efficiency of approximately 25% over the standard solution. This also allows the PCOP MONO heat pumps to operate with flow temperatures of up to 60°C.

Safety in use with a long warranty period and AntiFreeze function

The PCOP MONO heat pump is a monoblock unit with a hermetic refrigeration system. Thanks to innovative technical solutions, it is possible to work directly with the heating water. The very design of the condenser minimises the risk of freezing, even with an outside temperature of -30°C occurring for 20 hours. An additional recommended protection is Hewalex’s proprietary solution, the PZ HX Protection Module. The AntiFreeze function implemented by the module protects the condenser for 48 hours in the event of a power failure at -25°C outside.

Readiness to work with the building automation system

In many cases, the technical equipment of large buildings, such as heating, cooling, lighting, sunshade control, etc., is managed by integrated building automation. The PCOP MONO heat pump is designed for this situation and is equipped with a Modbus RTU communication protocol. It enables communication and control with any freely programmable controller as well as cooperation with a building automation system (BMS).

SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY THROUGH ANTIFREEZE FUNCTION
The monoblock design with hermetic refrigeration circuit can operate directly with water instead of glycol thanks to the innovative AntiFreeze function – using the PZ HX Safety Module.

CONDENSER DESIGNED FOR FREEZING PROTECTION
Minimise the risk of the condenser freezing when heating water is used, up to 20 hours at an outside temperature of -30°C, thanks to a special design and high-quality thermal insulation.

MODBUS RTU COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL
The Modbus RTU communication protocol of the PCOP MONO heat pump controller enables communication and collaboration with the building integrated automation system (BMS).

LARGE HEAT EXCHANGE SURFACE
The large surface area of the evaporator allows for efficient heat extraction even at low temperatures (operation down to -30°C). Efficient fans combined with a large evaporator surface area reduce air velocity and thus noise.

ADVANCED CONTROLLER WITH WIDE RANGE OF FUNCTIONS
The 5″ touchscreen controller with English menu allows the selection of one of 5 operating modes and allows cooperation with an additional boiler or electric heater. A timed programme allows the unit’s operation to be matched to the facility’s needs.
