PCWU 3.0 kW

The modular heat pump is designed to work with an existing hot water storage tank. This also makes it a very good solution for retrofit hot water systems.

What does the PCWU 3.0 kW heat pump offer?

The PCWU 3.0 kW heat pump is designed for indoor installation. It is designed to heat domestic hot water in residential properties, as well as any other properties of a commercial nature. The modular design of the unit provides for connection to an existing hot water storage tank. This allows the existing domestic water system to be easily upgraded. Economical operation is possible up to an outdoor temperature of approximately -7°C. In addition, the cooled air can be used for free room cooling (as an additional effect during normal operation).

High heating capacity with minimal energy consumption

With its small size, the PCWU 3.0 kW heat pump features one of the highest heating efficiencies in its segment. The use of an appropriately sized hot water storage tank will meet the needs of even more than five people in a single-family home. At the same time, nominal electricity consumption of less than 800 watts means that the daily cost of heating 300 litres of water to 45°C is minimal.

Highest efficiency class A+ in its segment

Using primarily renewable energy, the PCWU 3.0 kW heat pump ensures extremely low costs for heating domestic hot water. This is additionally due to the highest energy efficiency class A+ given to heat pumps for water heating. There is also the benefit of being able to obtain the highest levels of subsidies, which are usually dependent on the efficiency of the equipment.

Convenient to install, also when upgrading

The modular design of the PCWU 3.0 kW heat pump offers a range of application possibilities. The heat pump can work in conjunction with both a new and existing hot water storage tank in the building. Depending on the number of heater coils, the heat pump can work together with the boiler only or additionally with a solar system. The recommended water heating capacity is between 200 and 500 litres. The heat pump is connected directly to the hot water storage tank (not the coil heat exchanger).

Product features

SHELL-AND-TUBE CONDENSER – EFFICIENCY AND HYGIENE
The design ensures high heat transfer efficiency between the refrigerant and the water flowing in the copper piping.  It is possible to obtain water temperatures of up to 60°C.

4-ROW EVAPORATOR FOR EFFICIENT HEAT RECOVERY
Efficient heat extraction from the air is ensured by the special design of the densely finned 4-row evaporator. It allows stable and economical operation, even down to an air temperature of -7°C.

QUIET AND DURABLE ROTARY COMPRESSOR
Made with proven technology, the rotary compressor features an uncomplicated design and thus reliability. Low electrical power consumption makes it possible to achieve the highest efficiency class A+.

CONTROLLER WITH EXTENSIVE FUNCTIONS
A large text screen allows convenient operation. In addition to the standard operating functions of the heat pump itself, cooperation with a boiler or heater is possible, as well as remote online monitoring.

How to choose a heat pump with optimal power and hot water storage tank capacity?
For PCWU heat pumps, there are two hot water storage tank sizes to choose from: 200 or 300 litres, as well as 2 heating capacities: 1.8 or 2.5 kW. How to make the optimal choice depending on water needs and comfort expectations?
Rozwiń odpowiedź

In order to provide the residents with the expected amount of hot water, it is necessary to choose a heat pump with an appropriate hot water storage tank capacity. The level of comfort depends also on the time it takes to heat up the stored water, determined by the heating capacity of the heat pump. For example, 300 litres of water at a temperature of 10 degrees C with a power output of 1.8 kW, will be heated up after about 6 hours, With a power output of 2.5 kW, this time is reduced to about 4 hours. During the times of peak hot water demand, an electric immersion heater or a boiler can be used to improve the heating capacity.

Which controller to choose for a PCWU heat pump?
The 1.8 kW PCWU heat pumps are equipped with the HW100 controller, while the 2.5 kW PCWU is equipped with the G426 controller. What are their capabilities and which one will be suitable for the specific needs of the user and the specifications of the domestic hot water installation?
Rozwiń odpowiedź

The 1.8 kW PCWU heat pumps feature the HW100 controller, which is characterised by its functionality and ease of operation. The 2.5 kW PCWU heat pumps, on the other hand, have a G426 controller. They are already characterised by an extended range of functions, including cooperation with the boiler and the possibility of remote operation and monitoring.
